Where should I invest Rs 4,000 per month?

I am 21 years of age and I would like to take high risk by investing in equity-oriented funds. I am planning to invest Rs 4,000 every month. Can you suggest me some good funds to invest which have low unit value?

Deepali Sen, Founder, Srujan Financial Advisors, responds: Investing in funds with low unit value is not the right way to look at funds. At the end of the day, performance with risk mitigation is what matters, not the entry price. Amongst large caps diversified equity funds you could look at Aditya Birla Sun Life Frontline Equity, ICICI Prudential Focused Bluechip Fund and SBI Bluechip Fund. Amongst diversified multicap funds, you could look at Franklin India Prima Plus, DSP Blackrock Opportunities Fund, Aditya Birla Sun Life Advantage Fund and SBI Magnum Multicap Fund. Diversified midcaps at current market levels are avoidable as they are steeply overvalued. Also, sector specific or theme based funds can be high on volatility.
